Hostinger Nameserver Setup 2026: How to Point Your Domain to Hostinger

Nameservers are the internet's directory system for your domain. When someone types your domain in a browser, their computer asks nameservers 'where does this domain live?' Nameservers respond with DNS records (like A records) that point to your hosting server's IP address.

By default, a domain's nameservers are set to the registrar's own nameservers. To use Hostinger hosting with a domain registered elsewhere (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.), you need to update the domain's nameservers to Hostinger's, so Hostinger controls DNS.

Hostinger's primary nameservers are:

• ns1.dns-parking.com
• ns2.dns-parking.com

Some Hostinger accounts use region-specific nameservers like ns1.hostinger.com and ns2.hostinger.com, or ns1.hostingultra.com and ns2.hostingultra.com. Always verify the exact nameservers for your hosting account in hPanel → Hosting → Dashboard → Nameservers section.

At GoDaddy: My Products → Domains → your domain → scroll to 'Nameservers' → Manage → Custom → enter Hostinger's NS1 and NS2.

At Namecheap: Domain List → your domain → Manage → Nameservers → Custom DNS → enter Hostinger's nameservers.

At Hostinger (if domain is registered here): hPanel → Domains → your domain → Manage → Nameservers. Change from Default to Custom and enter the specific nameservers for your hosting package.

After saving, propagation takes 1-24 hours. During this time your site may be intermittently accessible from different locations.

Once nameservers propagate to Hostinger, verify:

• Your website loads correctly at your domain
• Email still works (MX records should have been preserved or re-added in hPanel)
• SSL is active (re-install Let's Encrypt if needed after NS change)
• Any subdomains point to the right IPs

If you previously used Cloudflare, reverting nameservers to Hostinger means you lose Cloudflare's CDN and DDoS protection. You can re-add Cloudflare by pointing nameservers back to Cloudflare after Hostinger DNS is set up.
